Derbyshire County Council have confirmed that the application by Warwick Energy for an Incinerator at Pye Bridge has been withdrawn. Warwick are now looking at other options for the site and AVAIN sincerely hope that these include options which will not pollute our children, schools and families. We remain optimistic that Warwick will see sense and find an environmentally sound use for the site, but we are monitoring developments closely.
AVAIN continue to work with other groups to gather new research against incineration and are working closely with the community of Kirkby-in Ashfield to monitor the new Warwick incinerator currently being built on the Bentinck Colliery site.
